For Non-diegestic sound, it means the sound that are not shown within the frames of the animation, by adding those non-diegestic sound into the animation, it can helps presenting the rest of the animation world to the audiences in a more realistic way while this cannot be done by just using visual presentation. On the other hand, making good use of diegestic sound can enhance the narrative as well, for example, some music can be used in order to exaggerate the feeling of the character in order to present clearly to the audiences. The atmosphere can be seriously affected by the use of different background music. Thus adding audio into animation can definitely enhance the presentation of character emotion, the atmosphere as well as the virtual world in order to strengthen the narrative.
